Lynn Public Schools
CASA Field EXPERIENCE
In partnership with Dr. Linda Nathan, five Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE) graduate students are currently engaging in a year-long field experience at the City Arts and Sciences Academy (CASA), a new public 6–12 school in Lynn, MA. Rooted in democratic education, CASA is inspiring creativity, critical thinking, and community.
The students are supporting areas such as student culture, curriculum development, and family engagement, while also contributing reflective insights to guide the school’s inaugural year. Together they are documenting observations and learnings in monthly memos that serve as both reflection and resource for the school’s leadership. This collaborative work is helping to shape CASA’s practices while deepening the students’ own understanding of school design and educational leadership.
lynn coaching program
The CAS-Lynn Clinical Leadership Practice Program is a year-long professional development initiative that strengthens the instructional leadership of newly appointed principals in Lynn Public Schools. Through individualized coaching and collaborative, equity-centered learning modules, principals build the skills to navigate adaptive challenges, foster strong school cultures, and improve student outcomes. The program combines monthly group sessions with personalized coaching, creating a reflective and collaborative community where leaders share strategies, deepen practice, and support one another in advancing equity and excellence across schools.
