Linda Nathan
Dr. Linda Nathan began her career as a bilingual middle school teacher. She was a high school principal for many years (and school founder). She is a lecturer at Harvard Graduate School of Education and Cambridge College. Currently, she works as a leadership coach and writes and blogs about education www.lindanathan.com
Hannah Kehn
Hannah Kehn is a school designer and leader with over twenty years of diverse experience facilitating transformative work in K-12 public schools and organizations. She has a track record of collaborating with others to turn vision into reality. She has served in roles including implementation coordinator, principal (including a founding principal for seven years), and educational consultant. She has facilitated workshops at conferences nationally including at the Deeper Learning Conference at High Tech High in San Diego and at the Center for Leadership and Educational Equity’s “Fall Forum”.
Hannah is passionate about asking school communities the question - What are we creating today that is unique, necessary, and something we are proud of? Hannah's belief in the power of "artivism" originates in part from her own story as a young person, but artivism has also served as a catalyzing force in many of the democratic learning environments she has experienced. In 2024, she was honored to write about this in the chapter called "Let the Light In" published by Palgrave Macmillan, Building Democratic Schools and Learning Environments: A Global Perspective. Hannah holds Master's degrees from Pace University (teaching) and The Harvard Graduate School of Education (school leadership).
Chandra Joseph-Lacet
Chandra Joseph-Lacet has spent over 30 years working in the field of education. She began her career in Higher Education and later transitioned to K-12 education where she began her teaching career in the Boston Public Schools as an Elementary School Teacher. In addition to working as a classroom teacher, Chandra has also been a Special Education Teacher, Literacy Coach, Special Education Coordinator, Assistant Principal and Coach for early career teachers. Chandra is currently the Director of Community Wellness and Lead Faculty for the Peronne-Sizer Institute for Creative Leadership at Hale Education. She is passionate about teaching and leading with humanity and helping others to do the same. As the CEO of CJ Education Consulting Group, LLC., Chandra specializes in building creative, brave and inspired wellness spaces where educators can truly tune into their inner selves and learn, grow and expand the whole of who they are. Chandra is presently an Apprentice Facilitator with The Center for Courage & Renewal and a Facilitator with the Soul of Leadership.
Dr. Larry Myatt
Dr. Larry Myatt has been deeply engaged in education leadership development and school redesign and renewal for over three decades. He focuses his time on coaching and supporting a small number of committed schools and leaders in redesign, inquiry learning and building capacity for supporting social emotional needs of students
Dr. Myatt was the founder of Fenway High School, winner of a number of national and regional awards, and a pioneer in the small schools and school-to-career movements. He was its Headmaster for twenty years before accepting an assignment to advise Boston's High School Renewal Initiative. He co-founded Boston's Center for Collaborative Education and founded and directed the Greater Boston Principal Residency Network at Northeastern University from 2000-2008.
Mariana Garza Frech
Mariana Garza is an educator, facilitator, and lifelong learner who believes in the power of community, creativity, and collaborative design to drive meaningful change. She partners with non-profit teams and community-based initiatives to co-create learning experiences that enable people to connect more deeply with themselves, their voice, and their communities. Her work weaves together communication, education, organizing, and design to nurture agency and support individual and collective growth. She recently completed her Master’s in Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where she focused on adult learning, identity, power, and justice.
Nanvi Jhala
Nanvi Jhala is a passionate learning designer and educator dedicated to nurturing creative thinking in children through hands-on learning, interdisciplinary approaches, and emerging technologies. She earned her Master’s in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where she specialized in Learning, Design, Innovation, and Technology (LDIT) in May 2025. She is experienced in designing and leading professional development programs for educators, aligning curricula with global standards, and supporting teacher capacity-building through creative, inclusive, and evidence-based strategies. She believes in promoting learner agency and cultivating curiosity, critical thinking, and a growth mindset in both students and teachers.
Juan Mora y Araujo
Juan is an educator, strategist, and social entrepreneur with 15+ years of experience designing public policy, supporting schools, and building cross-sector alliances to transform how young people learn. His work spans the Americas, Europe, and the Caribbean, including roles with Argentina’s Ministry of Social Development, Peace First, SKY Schools, and The Perrone Sizer Institute. Juan has helped launch and shape secondary schools in Argentina, Uruguay, the U.S., and Romania, drawing on models like project-based and expeditionary learning. He has supported more than 10,000 educators and school leaders through professional development focused on reimagining how and why we teach. He is committed to building a youth-centered, innovative, and future-ready education ecosystem through collaboration across the public, private, and social sectors.
Gustavo Rojas Ayala
Gustavo Rojas Ayala (Harvard M.Ed.) has spent over 15 years leading and shaping educational and organizational projects across Latin America. He served as a co-editor of Designing Democratic Schools and Learning Environments
A Global Perspective bringing together voices and practices that reimagine education globally. With a decade of executive experience and a track record in policy, research, and innovation, Gustavo now focuses on executive consulting, helping leaders and organizations in Latin America strengthen their capacity to adapt, grow, and lead with purpose.
Manuel Barberis Aduriz
Manuel Barberis Aduriz is an educational entrepreneur and learning designer based in Buenos Aires. He is the Learning Director at Happy Together Studio, where he leads the work for AT&T’s The Achievery, designing learning experiences that connect creativity, technology, and meaningful student engagement. Manuel is also the co-founder of BetaHub, a youth initiative focused on AI literacy, financial inclusion, and introductory computer science, with the goal of reaching 1 million young people across Latin America. In addition, he co-leads EdStudios, a learning think-tank, and Pegasus Content, a creative studio that partners with global organizations on storytelling, marketing and branding projects.
Manuel joins the CAS Board with a commitment to expanding opportunity for young people and supporting educators through innovative, arts-informed approaches to teaching and leadership.
Carolyn Turk
Carolyn Turk is a dedicated senior-level academic leader with extensive teaching & learning experience focused on cultivating culturally responsive learning environments and advancing student success. She was Deputy Superintendent For Teaching & Learning at Cambridge Public Schools. She has worked with educators, non-education school employees, students, caregivers, and community leaders/partners on issues such as student & family advocacy, curriculum & instruction, assessment, professional practice renewal strategies, relationship building, educational policy development, school budgeting, and collective bargaining.
Julie Craven
Julie Craven, an accomplished educator, who served as Principal at Rindge Avenue Upper School, Cambridge, MA, from 2016 to 2023. Her focus there was on building teacher capacity in anti-racist, student-centered, data-driven instruction; building a community of adult learners; making school more welcoming for all stakeholders, particularly historically marginalized groups; making evaluation process more relevant for teachers and school; strengthening co-teaching and healing-informed instructional practices. Julie's expertise extends to roles as an instructional coach and a history teacher, enhancing educational practices. She is proficient in French and Mandarin
Bill Wehrli
Bill works with a wide range of school leaders, leadership teams, schools, and districts across New England. Bill’s work includes supporting schools to develop a vision of the graduate, focus on equity of outcomes and experiences for students, and improving the quality of instruction and professional learning. Bill has mentored and coached many school leaders over the years. In addition to 21 years as a principal in three school districts, Bill also spent seven years with the New England Association of Schools and Colleges supporting accreditation and school improvement. His education includes a B.A. in American Studies from Wesleyan University and an M.Ed. in School Leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
Demetrius Fuller
Demetrius Fuller is an artist, educator, and creative thinker who has spent more than two decades helping people understand how their minds work. After 20 years teaching art and leading district arts programming, he now serves as Assistant Principal in the Greater Boston area, where he blends creativity, cognition, and school leadership. He is the creator of the HOMies, a set of characters that make thinking visible across all subjects. His work has appeared in Studio Thinking From the Start, Designing Democratic Schools, Phi Delta Kappan, and the Efficacious Educator podcast. He is currently writing The HOMie Handbook, which documents the HOMies and how to adopt them in school settings.
Aketa Narang Kapur
Aketa Narang Kapur brings over 25 years of expertise in education and advocacy for multilingual students. Her diverse experience includes roles as an elementary dual language immersion teacher, ESL teacher, high school SLIFE teacher, language acquisition coach, and school administrator. As the founder of Full Circle Teacher, Aketa has developed a culturally and linguistically responsive MTEL coaching model, currently serving districts across Massachusetts. She also provides professional development to K-12 school leaders, teachers, and paraeducators throughout the state.
Jennifer Chen Fein
Educator with 15 years of experience, including 5 years as a principal/assistant principal and 8 years as a math teacher in both urban and suburban settings. Currently teaching in a variety of graduate programs for aspiring school leaders and providing coaching and professional learning for new and experienced school leaders.
